This occurs in all engines, but it is exacerbated in forced induction vehicles (supercharged and turbocharged) as crankcase pressures rise. In order to combat this, we designed our own oil separator. This piece is made of solid billet aluminum and is extremely strong. It has a knurled tank base for easy removal to drain spent oil and an O-ring seal to keep leaks at bay. A fine mesh stainless steel screen captures fine oil vapors and releases them once they are heavy enough to fall. They then pass through a 1\/2\" thick 1\/16th\" aluminum honeycomb filter, growing larger and larger before falling to the bottom. By the time the oil gets through the filter, it's too heavy to be passed on into the intake. While 3 oz of fluid may not seem like much, you shouldn't see that much oil in your PCV system.
