Every camshaft application is available in a variety of profiles, each with unique lift and duration characteristics to accommodate varying tuning levels. Lower profiles provide significant power increases and a wide useful power band with minimal drivability loss. Although larger profiles are designed for racing applications in the higher RPM range, they do give bigger power increases. HKS camshafts are machined from brand-new billet cores made of an iron alloy with a high nickel concentration; they are not reground OEM parts. HKS can develop camshafts that match or surpass the quality of the OEM units they are intended to replace because they manufacture all of their camshafts from billet cores. HKS camshafts are compatible with the factory valve train parts and are intended to be a direct replacement.
